Reading one of my RSS feeds... just had to SHARE!

Ik had het er net over... de overload... overmatig aanbod van ongevraagde informatie.
Via een RSS feed kwam ik dit tegen...

WORD of the YEAR 2008
With social media on the rise all across the globe , there is just an excess of personal information we are divulging on blogs & SN profiles.
Not a big surprise again - “overshare” is Webster’s New World Dictionary’s word of the year.
Overshare (verb): to divulge excessive personal information, as in a blog or broadcast interview, prompting reactions ranging from alarmed discomfort to approval.
Blogs surged with “oversharing” this year from a New York Times Magazine cover story in May by Emily Gould , a former editor of Gawker.com. Gould spilled the goods on her ongoing professional and romantic dramas on her own blog, and then wrote about the perils of oversharing. Gould wrote. “Technology just enables us to overshare on a different scale.”

Als wij, immigranten in het digitale landschap, eenmaal aan toe zijn om met onze web 2.0 vaardigheden onszelf te profileren op het internet, lopen we het risico te moeten constateren dat iedereen informatiemoe geworden is op het terrein van de sociale media.
Nogmaals de vraag... to blog or not to blog!

  1. Misschien worden de verbin-dingen je nog eens teveel. Overload, overshare, oververmoeid van alle om je oren vliegende informatie, het is allemaal wel heel herkenbaar. Proberen maar om met beide benen op de grond te blijven en er met een gezonde dosis relativeringsvermogen naar blijven kijken. Laat je niet gek maken.
